Paul: Change Acts 9:1-9, 17-22  ADBC 5-7/8-17

Note to Leaders: Every small group is different, so we are providing a summary study with additional resources in the Going Deeper section. Please choose the questions that relate best to your particular group.

Starter:  Is there someone in your past that was overly zealous about the rules and every detail of life?  How did they affect you?

Engage and Connect

  • Paul had a background in Greek philosophy.  Philosophy is evident in much of Paul’s teaching.  How can we rectify utilizing wisdom from the likes of Plato and Socrates and other thinkers that did not adhere to the Law of God or teachings of Jesus?
  • Why do you think Paul did not eat or drink for three days?
  • Is there a hurt, hang-up, or habit that you are dealing that you feel you can safely share with the group?  How has God helped you with this?
  • Is there a part of your past that you think is keeping you from living a life for Christ? Note: Paul’s past included indirectly causing the death of believers.
  • Why do you think some Churches don’t welcome everyone into their fold?
  • In what ways can we become people who are welcoming to everyone?
  • Is there a difference between acceptance and tolerance?
  • Has God laid something on your heart where you need to change the way you think, the way you see, or the way you go?

Prayer:  Lord please make me into who you want me to be.  Change my thinking, seeing, and going to the way you think, the way you see, and the way that you go.
